On June 18th and 19th, European Development Days (EDD) 2019 brought together the development community to share ideas and experiences in ways that inspire new partnerships and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.
More than 8500 participants voiced, shared and learned about new projects and ideas. From Interarts booth, working side by side with CUMEDIAE, SouthMed WiA was introduced to all of the participants that came for information about the Interarts Foundation.
On the 19th of June, Dr. Ignasi Guardans, CEO of CUMEDIAE, spoke about the achievements made in the SouthMed WiA project in a full pop-up session, including how it has contributed in advancing gender equality and equal opportunities for women in the audio-visual sector in countries like Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia. He also introduced, explained and showed the documentary film “Recto/verso” which highlights the situation of women working in this sector in the southern Mediterranean, and also serves as an example of SouthMed WiA objectives, intentions and work throughout the past years.
