An Informative handbook will be produced to highlight relevant information on the audiovisual sector in the target countries and include insight into best practices, co-production, funding, networking, industry access, learning opportunities, policies, gender equality approach in the film industry, the image of women in audiovisual products, etc.
A documentary will be produced to facilitate greater visibility of young and emerging female professionals, in particular their experiences and challenges to access the film industry. The short documentary will present actual stories of young female film-makers within the target countries.
Guidelines for the inclusion of gender issues in audiovisual curricula will be produced, responding to the need to train a new generation of female film-makers and promote education that avoids negative stereotypes about women. Education is the key for changing stereotypes, attitudes and behaviours deeply entrenched in culture.
Collection of evidence
A collection of evidence based on sub-granted projects results, collection of data, information and arguments regarding the potential of the role of women in relevant positions of the SouthMed film industry, and the importance of positive and fair image of women on the screen, will be produced. This collection aims at raising awareness among the SouthMed film sector, as well as the whole society, on the importance of promoting gender equality and women’s representation in the audiovisual field in the Southern Mediterranean region.
